Mar 7 Superunknown Turns 25 [Updated 06/27/2020]

SiriusXM’s “Lithium” station is doing a weekend long tribute to Soundgarden’s Superunknown, starting with a re-broadcast of “Chris Cornell Artist Confidential” at 9am Eastern this morning.

They will also be playing songs from the album, including demos, live versions, and interview clips about the songwriting process.

They will also be playing back listener audio clips about the album - you can send in your voice recordings to lithium@SiriusXM.com

On March 7th 2019, we posted clips of fans calling into Sirius with their Superunknown/Soundgarden stories and memories, as well as interview clips from the band. We linked to our Twitter and Instagram clips here, but our Twitter account from that time has since been removed, so those links were lost.

#ChrisCornell talks about early tours and getting confidence from @TheMattCameron “The first tours we did with Matt, you know we’re going to clubs in towns where, you know you’re just sort of intimidated. And you go into these dirty, dingy clubs that are dark. And they stink like rotten alcohol, you know, and there’s guys with neck tattoos wandering around, mopping up, and everyone seems to hate you. It was the first time I was outside of Seattle, and it was intimidating. One of the things I would remember...every time Matt would finish putting his kit together, he would sit down and start hitting the drums a little bit - that was one of those moments of confidence because whoever was in that room, would always look up with kind of a “holy shit !”.
